Shaun was born in Leeds in Chapel town. Lived in London and studied ballet and trained as a contemporary dancer. He wrote music for Scottish ballet, Zimbabwe national ballet, Durham theatre to name a few.
He founded the Arthur Wharton Foundation after attending a Taste of Africa Showcase in Middlesbrough. He was invited by Sade Sangowawa the founder of the event. It was at this event he picked up a brochure put together by Sade on Black achievers and inventors.
My first impression of the area was ‘the sense of spirit here’.
‘I believe black life is not going to matter to people in authority until black history matter. Until it matters in workplace and schools etc things will not change’.
